Description
This is a Tasco variable power riflescope, identified by the markings as the 3X-9X.40, Model 39X40SPL. Key features transcribed from the body include WATERPROOF, 39X40SPL, AO (Adjustable Objective), and CHINA, indicating the country of manufacture. The scope utilizes exposed, finger-adjustable turrets for windage and elevation adjustments, with a protective cap over the elevation turret. The internal reticle is a standard duplex crosshair pattern. The scope is presented mounted on a white, inverted U-shaped metal display stand using two black plastic scope rings/saddles; the stand and rings are included for display purposes only.
Condition report:
The overall condition is poor to fair, consistent with heavy use and age. The blued finish is significantly worn, showing thinning, surface wear, and patina across the barrel and action, with scattered minor surface rust visible, particularly on the barrel. The action sides feature stamped scrollwork engraving centered around a medallion design. The action appears to function correctly, cocking and releasing the hammer when tested, but we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The wooden buttstock and forend are heavily scratched and dented throughout, with substantial loss of original finish, reflecting field use. The buttstock is fitted with a black, textured polymer buttplate which is intact. The bore condition is not visible but appears dark consistent with age and lack of cleaning. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
