Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 1361:
Sold for: $10
Description
This lot consists of approximately 130 assorted ammunition components and loaded cartridges suitable for reloading or scrap. The collection is comprised of three distinct groups. The first group consists of 20 nickel-plated, once-fired brass cases, all bearing the headstamp SPEER .38 SPL. These cases are boxer primed and appear ready for processing. The second, larger group consists of approximately 100 heavily tarnished, unprocessed brass pistol cases of various calibers, including examples consistent with .45 Auto and 9mm, based on visual inspection and size. The web research confirms these types of unprocessed brass lots are commonly sought after by reloaders. The third group consists of 10 loose, mixed items, including several longer, silver/nickel rimmed loaded rounds and various brass cases, some of which show heavy oxidation.
Condition report:
The condition of the components varies significantly. The 50 rounds stored in the blue polymer box feature clean, bright brass casings and appear to be factory loaded or recently reloaded. The projectiles and primers are clean. The 20 rounds/cases in the red Federal tray and the 17 rounds/cases in the Winchester-Western box show heavy tarnish, oxidation, and patina consistent with long-term storage in non-climate-controlled environments. Some of these older casings may require significant cleaning or tumbling before being suitable for reloading. We have not function-tested any of the loaded ammunition and cannot guarantee its safety or reliability. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws regarding the purchase and possession of ammunition.
