Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 1397:
Sold for: $95
Description
This lot consists of one (1) vintage fixed-blade utility or hunting knife accompanied by its original leather sheath. The knife features a wide, robust blade with a prominent clip-point profile, consistent with classic American utility knife designs popularized during the mid-20th century. The blade exhibits a dark, worn finish. The grip is constructed from stacked leather washers interspersed with colored spacers (appearing brass/yellow, white, and black). The fittings include a simple metal cross guard and a substantial, rounded metal pommel cap, likely aluminum or heavily worn nickel. Faint, illegible markings are present on the ricasso, possibly indicating a manufacturer like Ka-Bar, but are obscured by wear. The accessory is a heavily aged, brown leather sheath with stitched construction and an integrated retention strap and belt loop. A white inventory sticker marked 13062 is affixed to the sheath.
Condition report:
The components are in used or long-term storage condition. The finish is dull gray lead, exhibiting general tarnish and accumulated dirt or oxidation, particularly visible within the deep lubrication grooves. The projectiles appear structurally sound, suitable for cleaning and use in reloading, but have not been weighed or verified for dimensional consistency. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws regarding the use and possession of ammunition components.
