Description
A collection of seventeen vintage shoe care and cobbler accessories housed within a distressed, dark green painted wooden storage box. The box features brass-toned hardware, including a front latch and side hinges. Permanently mounted atop the box lid is one cast iron shoe rest or jack, designed with a star and grid pattern. The collection includes a total of five cast iron shoe lasts or jacks of varying sizes and patinas, suitable for cobbling or repair work, including the attached rest and four loose examples. The loose lasts exhibit forms suitable for different shoe sizes. Additional contents stored within the box include five round metal Kiwi brand shoe polish tins (in Black and Mahogany shades), three wooden-handled bristle brushes, two polishing cloths, and one small clear glass bottle containing a light liquid. The cast iron components are consistent with antique shoemaker tools.
Condition report:
The die and associated components appear to be in excellent, near-new condition. The steel components show minimal handling marks or wear. The micrometer adjustment mechanism operates smoothly. The original bright green polymer storage case is clean and undamaged, retaining the original product label. The kit is complete with the die, operating instructions, and hex key.
