Sold for: $250
Description
This is an Ithaca Model M-66 Supersingle single-shot shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge with a 3-inch chamber. The M-66 is notable for its unique break-open action, which is operated by a large lever loop resembling a traditional lever-action rifle. The barrel is 28 inches long and features a simple brass bead front sight. Visible markings on the barrel/breech area include ITHACA GUN CO. INC., ITHACA, N.Y.-MADE IN U.S.A., M-66 Supersingle-12 GA.-3 CHAMBER, PROOF TESTED-ROTO FORGED, and the designation MOD. 2 U. The furniture consists of hardwood (likely walnut) for the buttstock and fore-end.
Barrel Length: 28 inches
Condition report:
The overall condition is heavily distressed, consistent with significant use and exposure. The wooden stock shows numerous dings, scratches, and wear marks, with the grain exposed and rough texture. The metal components, including the barrel, barrel bands, lock plate, hammer, and trigger guard, exhibit severe, deep surface rust and heavy oxidation across 100% of the exposed surfaces. The simulated action appears stiff due to corrosion but is mechanically non-functional as a firearm. The identifying sticker on the buttstock is aged but legible. We have not function-tested this item. It is the buyer\'s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
