Description

This lot consists of one US Military issue M13 ammunition can, originally intended to hold 200 rounds of 7.62 MM NATO ammunition. The can is a standard metal ammo can configuration, finished in olive drab. The can is stenciled with detailed information regarding its original contents, including 200 CARTRIDGES, 7.62 MM, CARTONS, M13, M62 (Tracer), and M80 (Ball) types. The manufacturing data indicates the lot was produced by LC (Lake City) in 1972, Lot L139635. The can currently contains a large, uncounted quantity of empty brass casings and nickel-plated spent cartridge cases. Additionally, a group of 13 spent cartridge cases are presented loose outside the can. While the can is marked for 7.62mm, the lot includes mixed caliber spent casings, potentially including some .38 spl empty brass casings as suggested by associated data. This lot is sold as inert components and scrap material only.
Condition: The ammunition can retains its original olive drab military finish, showing heavy use, significant scratches, scuffs, and minor surface oxidation consistent with field use and age. The yellow stenciling remains largely legible but shows wear. The lid latch and handle appear functional. The bulk contents consist of spent cartridge cases (inert components) showing mixed finishes (brass and nickel/silver/steel) and varying degrees of tarnish and residue. All casings are spent and non-functional as ammunition. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws regarding the possession and disposal of ammunition components.
