Lot 224:
Redfield 3X-9X Variable Power Rifle Scope with Adjustable Objective
Sold for: $120
Description
This is a vintage Redfield variable power rifle scope, marked 3X-9X. The optic features a 1-inch main tube and is currently mounted in two 1-inch Weaver scope rings, marked WEAVER 1" USA. The scope utilizes external elevation and windage turrets for adjustment. It features an adjustable objective (AO) ring near the bell, marked with visible range numbers (3 through 10 are partially visible). The elevation turret cap is marked 0 through 5. The reticle is a standard duplex pattern combined with a specialized Bullet Drop Compensator (BDC) scale visible in the lower quadrant, marked for range estimation (300 through 600 are visible). This model is consistent with Redfield’s popular hunting and target scopes of the mid-to-late 20th century.
Condition: The scope is in used condition. The glossy black finish shows significant surface wear, including numerous scuffs, scratches, and minor abrasions consistent with field use and mounting/unmounting. The adjustment turrets and adjustable objective ring appear to turn correctly. The glass appears generally clear, and the duplex reticle with the BDC scale is sharp and clearly visible. We have not tested the scope for tracking accuracy or fogging under field conditions. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
