A single Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle, Serial Number G1289338, chambered in .308 Winchester. This sporting rifle features a matte black or blued finish on the barrel and receiver, typical of post-1964 production Model 70s manufactured in New Haven, Connecticut. The rifle is fitted with a classic walnut sporting stock featuring a Monte Carlo comb and a black rubber buttplate marked WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS. The sighting system includes a ramped front sight and an adjustable folding leaf rear sight mounted on the barrel. Sling swivel studs with attached swivels are present on the forend and buttstock. The action is a controlled-feed bolt-action mechanism. Visible markings include the serial number G1289338 stamped on the receiver ring. The barrel is marked: -WINCHESTER, MODEL 70-308 WIN- MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL. The receiver bridge is marked WINCHESTER.
Condition: Overall condition is assessed as good to very good. The metal surfaces retain a high percentage of their original matte finish, showing minor handling marks and light scuffs on the barrel. The bright steel bolt body exhibits noticeable operational wear, discoloration, and loss of finish from cycling. The wooden stock, featuring a Monte Carlo comb, shows typical cosmetic wear for a used sporting rifle, including several light surface scratches and minor compressions, particularly on the buttstock. The rubber buttplate is intact but shows minor scuffing. The bore condition is not visually verifiable but the muzzle crown appears undamaged. The action appears to function correctly when cycled by hand, and the safety mechanism engages properly. We have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
