Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 255:
Sold for: $110
Description
This is a single bolt action rimfire rifle imported by United Arms Co. of Chicago. The rifle is configured with a simple sporting stock and a blued metal finish. The action is a straightforward bolt-action mechanism, likely designed for single-shot operation, chambered for the common .22 LR rimfire cartridge, based on design and market context. The receiver is clearly marked with the importer identification: UNITED ARMS CO CHICAGO 20. The country of origin is marked as MADE IN GERMANY. The rifle features a fixed blade front sight and an adjustable notch rear sight mounted on the receiver bridge. The trigger guard is an integral, fixed structure. No serial number is visible on the exterior components.
Condition: The overall condition is poor to fair, showing heavy use and neglect. The metal components retain approximately 20-30% of the original blued finish, which is heavily worn, scratched, and thinning to a gray patina, particularly on the receiver and barrel. There is scattered light pitting and surface oxidation visible throughout the metal surfaces. The wooden stock is in poor condition, featuring numerous deep scratches, dents, gouges, and significant finish loss across the forend and buttstock. The buttplate area shows heavy wear and chipping. The action appears to function correctly, cycling the bolt and engaging the trigger mechanism, but we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The bore condition is unknown without a physical inspection. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
