Description

This is an antique double-barrel percussion pistol, likely manufactured in Liege, Belgium, during the mid-19th century. The pistol features a side-by-side (SxS) configuration utilizing a muzzle-loading cap and ball action, actuated by two exposed hammers and two separate triggers. The barrels are finished in a dark bluing, and the furniture includes a trigger guard and lock plates that show remnants of case coloring. The grip is smoothly contoured hardwood, likely walnut, exhibiting a rich varnish. The barrel rib is clearly marked with the inscription FEDUMBALINA BELGIUM LIEGE, indicating the retailer or manufacturer and the place of origin. Several Liege proof marks are visible near the breech, consistent with Belgian manufacture standards of the period. The bore appears to be a large caliber, typical for defensive or sporting pistols of the era. No serial number is numerically discernible. This firearm is classified as an Antique, manufactured prior to 1899.Measurements unavailable.
Condition: The overall condition is good for an antique firearm of this age. The barrels retain a significant percentage of their original dark blued finish, though it is heavily thinned, scratched, and worn, particularly near the muzzle and along the edges. There is minor surface oxidation and light pitting visible on the metal surfaces, consistent with age and use. The lock plates and hammers show a faded patina with only faint traces of original case coloring remaining. The walnut grip is in very good condition, retaining a high-gloss varnish with minor handling marks but no major cracks or chips observed. The hammers cock and the triggers release the hammers, indicating the action appears to function correctly on both barrels. We have not function-tested this firearm with powder or caps, and it is sold as a collector’s item only. The bores are dark and show signs of fouling and pitting typical of black powder arms. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
