Lot 454:
A Collection of 79 Live Rifle Cartridges and 40 Empty Brass Casings for Reloading
Sold for: $50
Description
This lot consists of 79 Live Rounds and 40 Empty Brass Casings for reloading, housed across four containers: one blue plastic storage box and three vintage cardboard ammunition boxes. The collection features a mix of calibers, predominantly .30-06 Springfield and .30-30 Winchester, suitable for various sporting rifles. The ammunition includes cartridges manufactured by major historical brands such as Winchester (Super-X, Super-Speed Silvertip), Western (Super Power-Point), and Remington (REM-UMC). The loose cartridges in the blue container are primarily headstamped REM-UMC or Super Speed .30-06 Springfield, with some .30-30 Winchester rounds interspersed. The packaged ammunition includes Winchester Super-X, Winchester Super-Speed Silvertip, and Western Super Power-Point boxes, some of which contain the empty brass casings for reloading.
Condition: The overall condition of the ammunition is good, consistent with long-term storage. The brass casings throughout the collection display signs of age, tarnish, and storage wear. One horizontally positioned .30-06 cartridge in the blue box shows significant case corrosion and tarnish, though the majority of the rounds appear serviceable. The three vintage cardboard boxes exhibit notable shelf wear, creasing, fading, and handwritten inventory markings (e.g., 58 ZN, 56 ZN). The blue plastic storage box is intact with minor scuffing. We have not function-tested this ammunition, and it is sold as a collector’s lot. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws regarding the purchase and possession of ammunition.
