Description

A single CVA (Connecticut Valley Arms Inc.) Mountain Stalker percussion muzzleloading rifle. This rifle features a modern configuration with a black synthetic polymer stock designed for field use. The rifle utilizes a sidelock action with an exposed hammer and nipple for percussion cap ignition. The barrel is octagonal and finished in a blued or matte black steel. The rifle is equipped with a fixed blade front sight and an adjustable rear sight assembly, which appears to utilize fiber optic elements. A ramrod is stored beneath the barrel.Visible markings transcribed from the barrel include: BPI-CONNECTICUT VALLEY ARMS Inc. MOUNTAIN STALKER. MADE IN SPAIN Black Powder Only .50Cal. 1:32TWIST. Additional markings include a pressure mark 700kp/cm2 and the identifying number 61-13-008381-00. The lockplate features scroll engraving and retains a color case-hardened finish. This rifle is classified as a modern black powder muzzleloader. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
Condition: The overall condition is used, showing moderate cosmetic wear consistent with field use. The synthetic black polymer stock exhibits moderate scuffing, scratches, and handling marks, particularly visible on the buttstock. The octagonal barrel retains the majority of its blued or matte black finish, though minor wear and light patina are present, particularly near the muzzle and along the edges. The lockplate retains strong color case-hardening and clear scroll engraving. The hammer and action appear to function correctly, holding securely at half and full cock, though we have not function-tested this firearm with powder or projectile. The bore condition is unknown as the rifle has not been disassembled for inspection.
