Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 487:
Sold for: $20
Description
This lot consists of a complete set of LEE Carbide Speed Die reloading tools designed for use with the .38 Special caliber. The set is housed in its original red transparent plastic storage box. The Speed Die system is designed to perform multiple reloading functions in a single station press. The set includes three principal components: the main die assembly, a separate steel locking ring, and the internal decapping/expander pin unit. Visible markings on the die body include the caliber designation .38 SPL-C4. The packaging is marked LEE CARBIDE SPEED DIE, 38 Special, and bears Patent #4,836,078. The box also displays a barcode label confirming the model and caliber.
Condition: The set is in very good overall condition. The red plastic box shows minor shelf wear and light surface scratches but is structurally sound. The steel die components exhibit light handling marks and slight discoloration consistent with light use or long-term storage, primarily on the knurled black adjustment section and the decapping pin unit. There is no significant pitting or heavy corrosion observed on the critical surfaces. We have not function-tested these tools in a reloading press. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws concerning reloading components.
