Gun Collectors Dream Auction #81 January 31st & Feb 1st
Lot 534:
Sold for: $400
Description
This is a single single-action revolver identified as an H. Schmidt HS Model 121 S, chambered for the powerful .357 Magnum cartridge. This firearm is styled after the classic Single Action Army (SAA) revolver design, featuring a highly polished blued finish and smooth, varnished wood grips. The barrel is marked H. SCHMIDT OSTHEIM/RHOEN and MADE IN WEST GERMANY. The caliber is clearly marked Cal. .357 Magn. The frame bears a proof mark (crown/shield) next to the number 969. The ejector rod housing area is marked HS MODEL 121 S 9353. Import markings are visible on the butt strap: THE SPESCO CORP. ATLANTA, GA. The firearm is a product of West German manufacturing and import.
Condition: The revolver retains the majority of its highly polished blued finish, estimated at 85-90%. There are scattered light surface scratches and handling wear visible across the glossy finish, particularly noticeable on the barrel and cylinder flats, consistent with light use and storage. The varnished wood grips are in good condition with minor handling marks but no chips or cracks. The bore appears bright with strong rifling. The single-action mechanism appears to function correctly, cycling the cylinder and locking the hammer, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
