Lot 550:
US Military Surplus Metal Ammo Can Stenciled 7.62mm NATO M118 with Bulk Spent Brass Casings
Sold for: $20
Description
This lot consists of one large metal ammo can, consistent with US military surplus specifications, originally designed to hold 7.62mm NATO ammunition. The can is olive drab green and features yellow stenciling on the front face. The stenciling reads: 450 CARTRIDGES / 7.62 MM NATO / SPECIAL BALL M118 / CARTONS / LC-85A 135-005. The can is currently filled with a bulk lot of spent brass rifle cartridge casings, estimated to be over 1,000 pieces. An additional 8 loose spent casings are included outside the container. The casings exhibit varied states of tarnish and use. While the can is marked for 7.62mm NATO, the lot may contain mixed calibers, potentially including 9mm empty brass casings, though the majority appear to be rifle caliber. All casings are spent, inert, and intended for scrap or reloading purposes only. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
Condition: The large metal ammo can shows general wear, scuffs, and scratches consistent with military surplus handling and storage. The olive drab finish is largely intact, and the stenciling is clear. The lid latch mechanism appears functional. The spent brass casings inside the can and the 8 loose casings exhibit varied states of tarnish, oxidation, and minor surface dings consistent with having been fired and collected. No live ammunition is present. We have not function-tested this firearm.
