Lot 594:
Sold for: $475
Description
A single Uberti Model 1858 New Army Single-Action Percussion Revolver, serial number A42590, chambered in .44 caliber Black Powder Only. This is a modern Italian reproduction of the iconic Remington New Model Army revolver, featuring an 8-inch octagonal barrel and a six-shot cylinder. The revolver is finished in deep bluing across the barrel, frame, and cylinder, contrasted by a brass-toned trigger guard assembly. The grips are smooth, dark wood, likely walnut, secured by a screw with a brass escutcheon. The loading lever is mounted beneath the barrel. Visible markings include CAL. .44 BLACK POWDER ONLY – A. UBERTI ITALY stamped on the underside flat of the barrel. The full serial number A42590 is stamped on the buttstrap. Italian proof marks, including BU and PN, are present on the frame and barrel flat. The revolver is accompanied by its original A. Uberti factory box, which confirms the model, caliber, and serial number, along with a blister pack of F.lli Pietta Black Powder Accessories and a small plastic bag containing additional components. This firearm is classified as a modern black powder replica and is typically considered an antique status firearm for legal purposes, though buyers must verify local regulations.Barrel Length: 8 inches
Condition: The revolver is in excellent overall condition, appearing to have seen very little use. The deep blued finish retains approximately 98% coverage with only minor handling marks visible, primarily on the cylinder where a faint turn line is present. The brass trigger guard is bright and free of major discoloration or scratches. The smooth wood grips are excellent, showing deep color and grain with no chips or cracks. The bore appears bright with sharp rifling. The single-action mechanism appears to function correctly, locking the cylinder securely in place when cocked. We have not function-tested this firearm with live powder or caps. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
