Sold for: $500
Description
A single Winchester Model 70 bolt-action sporting rifle, Serial Number 718414, chambered in .30-06 SPRG. This rifle is of Post-64 production vintage and features a highly polished blued finish on the metal components. The rifle is configured with a high-gloss varnished walnut stock featuring impressed checkering panels on the forend and pistol grip. The buttstock is fitted with a ventilated rubber recoil pad. The rifle is equipped with a Redfield 3X-9X variable power scope mounted on blued bases and rings. A brown leather carrying sling is attached via quick-detach swivels. Markings visible on the barrel include WINCHESTER MODEL 70 30-06 SPRG and MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF. The receiver is marked WINCHESTER TRADE MARK. The serial number 718414 is clearly visible on the receiver ring.
Condition: The rifle retains a high percentage of its original polished blued finish, showing minor superficial handling marks on the barrel and receiver. The bore appears bright with sharp rifling, though this is a visual estimate only. The high-gloss wood stock shows moderate cosmetic wear, including several deep scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish loss, particularly visible on the buttstock and near the forend checkering. The impressed checkering panels remain sharp. The attached Redfield scope glass appears clear, but the scope’s functionality has not been tested. The bolt action appears to function correctly when cycled manually. We have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition and recommend a qualified gunsmith inspect it prior to use. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal firearms laws.
