Lot 85:
A Collection of 16 Used Greenhead Gear Style Plastic Waterfowl Hunting Decoys
Sold for: $55
Description
A large collection of sixteen (16) used plastic or composite waterfowl hunting decoys, likely manufactured by Greenhead Gear (GHG) or Avery, based on comparable models identified in research. The lot includes a variety of duck species, predominantly Mallard drakes (identified by green heads and yellow bills) and hens, along with several Pintail drakes and hens, and other brown/gray duck types. These decoys are designed for field or water use and feature realistic body shapes and paint schemes, though the paint is heavily worn.
Condition: The lot is in heavily used, field-worn condition. All decoys exhibit extensive wear consistent with prolonged outdoor use, including significant paint fading, scuffing, and surface grime accumulation. The plastic or composite material shows discoloration and chalking across the bodies and heads. While structurally intact without major cracks or missing components, the paint loss is substantial across all pieces, reducing their aesthetic appeal but maintaining their functional use as hunting gear.
