Description
A classic Remington Model 700 bolt-action sporting rifle chambered in 7MM REM. MAG. The rifle features a stainless steel barrel marked REMINGTON ARMS CO INC, ILION, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A. The barrel is stamped with patent numbers 2,473,373, 2,514,981, and 2,585,195. The receiver is marked Remington MODEL 700 with serial number 91008 and additional stampings including BEK 8, suggesting early to mid-production for the Model 700 line. The rifle is fitted with a high-gloss, figured wood stock featuring checkered panels on the forend and pistol grip, and a black rubber buttpad embossed Remington. The rifle is equipped with a period Bausch & Lomb (BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO. ROCHESTER N.Y. U.S.A.) Balvar 8 telescopic sight mounted via Bausch & Lomb bases and rings. The scope is marked with patent numbers 2,789,359 and 2,797,477. The lot includes an adjustable leather sling featuring a camouflage padded section, attached via swivel mounts, with a buckle component marked 2602 SB.
