Gun Collectors Dream Auction #82 February 21st & 22nd
Lot 1104:
Sold for: $300
Description
A highly desirable, near-new example of the Marlin Model 60 self-loading rifle, manufactured by THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. of NORTH HAVEN, CT, U.S.A. The rifle features a classic wood stock, blued steel finish on the barrel and receiver, and a distinctive gold-toned trigger. The barrel is marked “MODEL 60 MICRO-GROOVE BARREL CAL .22 LR ONLY,” indicating the use of Marlin’s proprietary rifling system. The action is semi-automatic, fed by a tubular magazine specified on the packaging as having a 15-shot maximum capacity. The serial number, 06250185, is clearly visible on the receiver. Based on the serial number prefix, the rifle is dated to approximately 1994. The rifle retains its factory sticker on the stock, confirming the Marlin brand and stating it was “TESTED AND TARGETED BY Phil B” with the number 483405. The lot includes the original brown corrugated cardboard shipping box, which is labeled for the “MODEL 60SC W/4X15 SCOPE & CASE” package, confirming the 22-inch Micro-Groove barrel and matching the rifle’s serial number. Also included are the original Owner’s Manual for the Model 60 Self-Loading Rifle, a Marlin Accessories flyer, a red and black plastic safety/chamber lock, and two small safety reminder stickers. This is a complete documentation set for a collector-grade rifle.
