Gun Collectors Dream Auction #82 February 21st & 22nd
Lot 1115:
Description
This vintage industrial tool is a bench-mounted bushing press manufactured by the Blackhawk Manufacturing Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Constructed of heavy cast metal with a steel lever handle, the device was designed for the mechanical removal and replacement of bushings in automotive and machinery applications. The frame features a circular mounting plate with two pre-drilled holes for secure bench attachment. The side of the casting prominently displays the text PATENT 1933940, which refers to a patent granted in 1933 to Earl E. Trowbridge. The item is finished in a period-correct olive-drab paint, typical of mid-century industrial and military-contract equipment. It features a threaded aperture at the front and a pivot-mounted handle secured with original-style cotter pins. Measurements are not available as no scale was present during inspection.
