Description
A comprehensive set of high-precision benchrest shooting accessories featuring a mechanical front rest and three specialized leather sandbags from prominent manufacturers. The central apparatus is a heavy-duty competition front rest, likely manufactured by Hovey, characterized by its robust black cast metal tripod base and silver aluminum cross-slide carriage designed for precise windage adjustment. Elevation is managed via a large central threaded post and a black adjustment wheel prominently marked HOVEY. The cradle is fitted with a tan leather or suede bag for barrel support. The rest includes brass adjustment feet for leveling. Accompanying the mechanical rest are three leather shooting bags. The first is a brown leather front bag featuring a circular stamp reading BALD EAGLE and SHUSTON MACHINE CO., fitted with black fabric ears. The second is a tan leather bag stamped PROTEKTOR MODEL / GALETON, PA. 16922. The third is a smaller brown suede toe bag secured with a white textile lace, intended for fine rear elevation adjustments. This set represents a complete system for competitive benchrest shooting, emphasizing stability and minute adjustment capability.
