Description

A classic American single-shot bolt-action rifle, the Winchester Model 47, manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in New Haven, Connecticut. This model was produced for a limited period, generally between 1937 and 1942, and was popular as a training or youth rifle. The rifle is chambered for the versatile .22 S, L, or LR (Short, Long, or Long Rifle) rimfire cartridges. Construction features a dark, polished hardwood stock paired with blued steel components for the barrel and receiver. The barrel is clearly marked with the manufacturer and model identification: MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. – WINCHESTER – MODEL 47 – U.S. OF AMERICA – TRADEMARK – .22 S. L. OR L.R. The rifle includes an adjustable rear sight and a fixed front sight. The bolt handle is finished in bright metal. The buttstock is fitted with an original black, checkered butt plate embossed with the Winchester logo. This is a complete firearm.
