Lot 1368:
Winchester Model 2400 Ranger Semi-Automatic 12 Gauge Shotgun with 28 Inch Barrel
Sold for: $350
Description
A classic American sporting firearm, this is a Winchester Model 2400 semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 gauge for 2 3/4 inch shells. The Model 2400 was produced by Winchester in New Haven, Connecticut, and represents a transitional period in their semi-automatic shotgun production. The shotgun features a high-polish blued finish on the receiver and barrel, contrasted by polished wood furniture on the buttstock and forend. Both grip areas feature factory checkering designed for improved handling. The barrel is 28 inches long and features a ventilated rib terminating in a front bead sight. Barrel markings confirm the choke as Modified (MOD) and include the Winchester Ranger designation, Winchester Proof Steel, and the manufacturing location: MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. The left side of the receiver is marked MODEL 2400 above the serial number N837321. The buttstock is fitted with an original black plastic buttplate embossed with the Winchester logo. Included in the lot is a padded, dark gray cloth gun sleeve with black piping and a braided closure cord.
