Description

Classic American single-shot rifle manufactured by J. Stevens Arms Company of Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. This is the popular Crack Shot Model 26, known for its simple, robust falling block action, which was a staple of Stevens’ youth and small game rifle lineup during the early 20th century. The rifle is chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge, as clearly marked on the barrel. The barrel inscription reads: “J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY PAT. APR. 22 ’13 / CHICOPEE FALLS MASS. U.S.A. .22 LONG RIFLE.” The receiver is marked “SHOT-26,” referencing the model number and its design capability to fire both standard .22 LR and specific shot cartridges. The action features an exposed hammer and is operated by a distinctive S-shaped finger lever that doubles as the trigger guard. The rifle is constructed with steel metal components and features a wooden buttstock and forearm.
