Description

This is an antique, unmarked double-barreled shotgun featuring a side-by-side configuration and a hinged break-action mechanism. The firearm is characterized by large, external ‘rabbit ear’ percussion hammers and double triggers. The barrels are 30 inches in length. The wooden furniture, likely walnut or similar dark hardwood, includes a checkered pattern applied to the wrist and the forend. The steel components, including the receiver and lock plates, display faint remnants of decorative scroll or vine engraving, typical of sporting arms of the period. This style of firearm was common during the transition from muzzle-loading to breech-loading technology in the mid-to-late 19th century. No manufacturer markings, patent dates, model numbers, or caliber designations are visibly marked on the exterior surfaces.
