Description

A highly collectible Remington Nylon 66 semi-automatic rifle, chambered for .22 Long Rifle ONLY ammunition. This example is the desirable “Apache Black” variant, distinguished by its high-gloss black Zytel nylon composite stock and bright finished metal components, including the barrel and receiver cover. The Nylon 66 was revolutionary upon its introduction in 1959 due to its durable, lightweight synthetic stock. The stock features checkered panels on the grip and forend, accented by thin golden/yellow trim around the buttplate and grip cap, and a diamond-shaped inlay on the forend. The rifle is marked “Remington .22 L.R. ONLY,” “REMINGTON NYLON 66,” and “MADE IN U.S.A.” The receiver cover bears the visible assembly/serial number A2119905. Additional markings near the breach include “34” and “BEO.” The buttplate is stamped with patent numbers PAT 305711 and DES 189854, confirming the original design. The rifle is fitted with an adjustable rear sight. This model typically features a tubular magazine.
