Description

A vintage C. J. Hamilton & Son Model 27 single-shot rifle, commonly referred to as a “Boys Rifle” due to its size and intended market. Manufactured in Plymouth, Michigan, U.S.A., this rifle is chambered in .22 caliber. The rifle features a round steel barrel and receiver components, paired with a plain wood buttstock and forearm. The action utilizes an exposed hammer and a distinctive sliding/removable breech pin operated by a knurled handle, allowing for easy loading and cleaning. The trigger guard assembly also functions as a take-down lever. Clear stamped markings are visible on the left receiver flat, reading: “THE HAMILTON RIFLE NO. 27 .22 CAL.,” “MFD. BY C. J. HAMILTON & SON PLYMOUTH MICH. U.S.A.,” and patent dates “PATENTED OCT. 30, 1906 – AUG. 13, 1907.” This model represents an important piece of early 20th-century youth firearms history. No measurements are available.
