Description
A classic American slide-action shotgun manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms Company. This example is the lightweight variant, the Model 12 Featherweight, chambered in 12 Gauge for 2 3/4 inch shells. The firearm features dark blued steel components throughout the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube, paired with dark-stained walnut furniture including a pistol-grip buttstock and a grooved forend. The barrel length is 26 inches, as specified. The receiver is clearly marked “WINCHESTER – TRADE MARK – MODEL 12 – FEATHERWEIGHT – 12 GA – 2 3/4 CHAM.,” and “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL.” The visible serial number stamped on the underside of the receiver is 1814960F, dating this shotgun to approximately 1960. The muzzle has been fitted with a period accessory, a Poly-Choke DELUXE adjustable choke and compensator device, marked with settings such as X-FULL SLUG IMP CYL, and location/patent information including HARTFORD, CONN., and PAT. PEND. The buttstock is fitted with a black synthetic buttplate marked “WINCHESTER.”
