Lot 305:
Lee Precision Safety Magnetic Powder Scale 100 Grain Capacity with Original Box
Sold for: $20
Description
A precision balance beam scale manufactured by Lee Precision, commonly identified as the Safety Powder Scale (often associated with model 90681). This instrument is designed for the accurate weighing of gunpowder charges essential for handloading and reloading ammunition. The scale features a heavy, stable base finished in bright red paint, supporting a black composite balance beam assembly. The design is noted for being magnetically dampened, ensuring quick settling and accurate readings. The beam is clearly marked with three scales: a coarse scale ranging from 0 to 100 (in 10 grain increments), a fine scale marked 0 to 10 (.1 GRAIN), and an additional scale marked 0 to 5 (GRAINS). The device includes its original silver-colored metal powder pan/scoop. The accompanying original cardboard packaging emphasizes that the scale is “CALIBRATED WITH WEIGHTS CERTIFIED TRACEABLE TO THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF STANDARDS” and is “LIFETIME ACCURATE.” The scale has a maximum capacity of 100 grains.
