Gun Collectors Dream Auction #82 February 21st & 22nd
Lot 387:
Sold for: $375
Description
A classic example of a sporterized U.S. military bolt action rifle, likely built on a Springfield M1903 or Remington M1903A3 action. The receiver is marked “U.S.” on the side and features the serial number 413914 near the barrel connection. The rifle has been professionally converted from its original military configuration to a sporting rifle, featuring a custom dark wood stock in the Monte Carlo style with a raised cheekpiece. The butt is fitted with a black rubber Pachmayr recoil pad. The action is paired with a modern variable power scope manufactured by Burris. The scope is marked “Burris” in script, “MADE IN US,” and “3X-9X,” indicating its magnification range and origin. The scope features a standard crosshair reticle. The rifle is fitted with a brown leather sling featuring white contrast stitching, attached via metal swivels. The original military sights have been removed to accommodate the scope mounting system. Caliber is not marked or verified but is presumed to be a standard military caliber such as .30-06 Springfield. No measurements available.
