Lot 446:
Michael W Smith Handcrafted Pair of Wooden Turkey Box Calls Artisan Stamped
Sold for: $110
Description
A lot of two matching handcrafted wooden turkey box calls, signed by the artisan Michael W Smith. Each call consists of a multi-sided box body and a separate paddle/lid tapered into a handle shape. The paddle is secured to the box body via a single brass pivot screw/fastener, allowing the paddle to rub the lip of the box to produce the desired turkey sounds (yelps, clucks, and cuts). The construction utilizes contrasting hardwoods. The box bodies display attractive striped grain patterns, while the paddles are made from lighter-colored hardwood. One paddle shows a tighter, straighter grain, and the other displays a more pronounced, knottier grain, highlighting the unique nature of the materials used in this pair. Both paddles bear an identical circular black stamp near the pivot point, reading “Handcrafted By Michael W Smith,” surrounding a central graphic depiction of a turkey track. These calls represent high-quality, specialized hunting accessories. No measurements are available as no scale was provided.
