Description

A classic post-war Remington Model 514 single-shot bolt action rifle chambered for .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle rimfire ammunition. The rifle features a blued steel barrel and receiver paired with a polished hardwood stock designed with a pistol grip configuration. The Model 514 was a popular, entry-level rifle manufactured by Remington from 1948 to 1963. Markings visible on the barrel include REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. and the patent number PAT. NO. 2,480,922, which was granted in 1949. The model designation is clearly marked as Remington MODEL 514 .22 SHORT LONG OR LONG RIFLE. A date code marking “A R” with an arrow is present near the receiver, consistent with Remington factory markings. The rifle is equipped with fixed front sights and an adjustable rear sight. An attached olive drab/khaki web canvas sling is affixed via metal swivels, likely added later for field use.
