A highly collectible Remington Mohawk 10 C semi-automatic rifle chambered for .22 Long Rifle ammunition. The Mohawk 10 C is a distinctive variant of the famous Remington Nylon series, known for its lightweight and durable synthetic construction. The rifle features a highly polished, marbled brown synthetic stock designed to mimic high-grade wood grain, accented by dark checkered panels on the grip and fore-end. Aesthetic details include white line spacers on the buttplate and fore-end tip, and a prominent white diamond inlay set into the fore-end. The receiver and barrel exhibit a deep black blued metal finish. The rifle is marked on the receiver with the serial number “2280883” and the date code “BW33,” indicating manufacture in January 1972. The caliber designation “.22 L R ONLY” is clearly visible. The grip cap is marked “MOHAWK 10 C.” The rubber buttplate is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC. ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.” and lists patent numbers “PAT. 305827” and “PAT. 3058241.” The rifle is fitted with an attached period telescopic sight, marked “WEAVER MARKSMAN 4 X.” The lot includes one curved, detachable black polymer box magazine, marked faintly with “77.” This model is historically significant as part of Remington’s innovative line of rifles utilizing Zytel Nylon polymer, offering superior resistance to weather and wear.
