Description
This Smith & Wesson Model 37-2 Airweight is a double action revolver chambered in .38 S&W Special, built on the compact J-frame platform. The firearm features a 1-7/8 inch barrel equipped with a fixed serrated ramp front sight and an integral trench rear sight. The construction consists of a black-finished aluminum alloy frame and a five-shot carbon steel cylinder. It is fitted with black checkered synthetic finger-groove grips. Key markings include the model designation 37-2 and the serial number CFF8316 stamped on the frame inside the crane. The left side of the barrel is marked .38 S.&W. SPL. and the right side is marked SMITH & WESSON. The right side of the frame features the Smith & Wesson trade mark logo, the Airweight script, and the manufacturer address SPFLD, MA S&W U.S.A. Included with the lot is a factory blue plastic hard case, an owner’s manual, and a factory envelope containing a fired casing. It should be noted that while the firearm is marked as a Model 37-2, the accompanying factory box label identifies the piece as a Model 37-3 with a matching serial number. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in fair to good condition. The black finish exhibits minor surface wear and light handling marks on the frame and cylinder, with some thinning at the muzzle and high edges. The hammer and trigger show visible oxidation and light pitting. The bore was not inspected. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double action, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The black synthetic grips are in good condition with sharp checkering and minimal signs of use.
