Sold for: $80
Description
This lot features one container of WC 844 smokeless propellant designed for use in certain rifle calibers. The powder is housed in a large black plastic jug with an integrated carrying handle and a white plastic screw-on cap. While the factory label indicates a net weight of 4 lbs, this lot contains 3 lbs of powder as specified by the consignor. Verbatim markings on the front label include WC 844 SMOKELESS POWDER, THIS PROPELLANT WAS DESIGNED FOR CERTAIN RIFLE CALIBER’S, NET WEIGHT 4 LBS, LOT NUMBER 49985, and EX 8307190D. The reverse of the container features a secondary label with safety warnings and storage instructions, which includes the name Bernard Levy handwritten in black ink. This propellant is a ball powder typically utilized for rifle cartridges such as .223 Remington and 5.56mm NATO.
Condition report:
The black plastic container remains in good structural condition with no signs of cracking or leakage. The white plastic cap is intact and threads securely onto the jug. The printed labels show noticeable yellowing and minor staining consistent with age and long-term shelf storage, though all printed information and the handwritten name remain clearly legible. The powder is sold as-is; the auction house has not chemically tested the propellant for stability, moisture content, or performance.
