Description
This collection consists of thirteen assorted hand tools and ammunition reloading accessories, primarily featuring a set of seven vintage C.S. Osborne and Co. arch punches in graduated sizes. Key markings include the stamped manufacturer name C.S. Osborne and Co. and the location Harrison, N.J. on the black-finished handles of the arch punches. The lot also contains one smaller arch punch with a knurled blued-steel handle, one large Proto model 9528 reamer tool marked 9528 Proto Los Angeles Mfd USA, and a single wooden-handled tool with a metal sleeve. Additionally, the set includes a Lyman Flash Hole Uniforming Tool, item number 7777760, which is complete in its original plastic retail packaging from Lyman Products, Middletown, CT. The remaining items comprise a small square-tapered punch and a large bolt assembly featuring two washers and a square nut. These items are utilitarian hand tools and reloading equipment and do not include any firearms or regulated components.
Condition report:
The metal tools show varying degrees of surface oxidation, rust, and wear consistent with age and use. The C.S. Osborne arch punches retain portions of their black finish but exhibit significant surface rust on the cutting heads and handles. The Proto reamer and the small tapered punch show heavy oxidation and surface pitting. The knurled blued-steel punch retains much of its finish with minor spots of rust. The Lyman reloading tool appears to be in excellent, unused condition within its original packaging, though the plastic shows shelf wear and age-related discoloration. The wooden handle on the sleeve tool is intact with minor dings and surface staining. Mechanical function of the reloading tool has not been tested.
