Gun Collectors Dream Auction #83 May 2nd & 3rd TWO DAYS - NO RESERVES - 1200 LOTS!
Lot 1181:
Description
This lot consists of 1 fixed-blade skinner hunting knife. The blade is constructed from unmarked pattern-welded Damascus steel featuring a distinct wavy grain. The knife utilizes a full tang construction. The handle scales are composed of three distinct sections: blue-dyed wood at the bolster, a central section of white bone or synthetic material, and red-dyed wood at the pommel. A five-pointed metal star is inlaid into the blue wood section on one side. The scales are secured to the tang with metal pins. The item is accompanied by a brown leather belt sheath with decorative stamping and contrast stitching. The sheath features a retaining strap and belt loop with metal snaps embossed with a star motif.
Condition report:
The blade exhibits significant surface oxidation and light rust across the flats on both sides. Similar oxidation is present on the exposed tang along the handle spine. The edge appears to retain the original factory grind with minimal evidence of sharpening wear. Handle scales are intact and securely attached.
