Description
This is a Maverick by Mossberg Model 88 pump-action shotgun chambered for 12-gauge shells. The firearm is configured for all-purpose field use, featuring a 28-inch ventilated rib barrel capable of accepting Accu-Choke tubes. The metal surfaces are finished in a matte black bluing, complemented by a bright steel-finished bolt and a black synthetic polymer buttstock with a matching checkered sliding forend. Sighting is provided by a gold-tone mid-bead and a white front bead located on the ventilated rib. The shotgun is equipped with a black rubber recoil pad and a cross-bolt safety located at the front of the trigger guard. Key markings on the left side of the receiver include the model designation MODEL 88, the gauge 12 GA., and the manufacturer MAVERICK BY MOSSBERG, with the serial number MV45021R located just above the trigger guard. Barrel markings specify CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN. SHELLS — 12 GA. — 28 IN. ACCU-CHOKE® — along with a safety warning from Eagle Pass, Texas. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun appears to be in very good overall condition with minimal signs of use. The matte black finish on the receiver and barrel is well-preserved, showing only very light handling marks. The bore is bright and clean. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The synthetic stock and forend are in excellent condition with no significant dings or scratches. The rubber recoil pad remains supple.
