Description
This lot comprises a vintage metal tackle box containing an assortment of mid-20th-century fishing equipment and related items. The tackle box features a dark-toned exterior with a gray interior and two cantilevered trays. Included is a silver-toned Zebco spincast reel with dual black handles and a black center band. Ephemera and packaging include a yellow and red South Bend box for an Anti-Back-Lash Reel, a Wright and McGill Eagle Claw Snelled Hooks cardboard display card, a yellow Hawaiian Wiggler box, and a 1964 U.S.A. Edition Champion spark plug tune-up data booklet. The collection features several fishing lures, including a Fred Arbogast Jitterbug with a marked metal lip, a red and yellow lure with front and rear propellers, and a large pink surface lure. A small orange Dutch Brand Friction Tape box and various loose hardware such as nuts, bolts, and washers are also present.
Condition report:
The items show signs of heavy use and age. The metal tackle box exhibits significant surface oxidation, paint loss, and scuffing. Lures show varying degrees of paint loss, chipping, and oxidation to the metal hooks and hardware. Paper and cardboard packaging and booklets show staining, creases, edge wear, and age-related discoloration. The reel shows surface wear and minor oxidation.
