Description
This lot consists of 64 rounds of .30-30 Winchester centerfire rifle ammunition and four vintage original boxes. The collection includes one gold-tone Browning Center Fire Rifle Ammunition box containing 18 cartridges with headstamps transcribed as BROWNING 30-30 WIN housed in a styrofoam tray; one red and yellow Savage Hi-Power Cartridges box containing 11 cartridges with headstamps transcribed as S.A. CORP. 30-30; one red, white, and yellow Winchester Silvertip Super Speed box containing 11 cartridges with headstamps transcribed as SUPER SPEED 30-30 WIN; and one red, white, and yellow Winchester Super Speed box containing 14 cartridges with mixed headstamps transcribed as SUPER SPEED 30-30 WIN, REM-UMC 30 WIN, and W.R.A. CO. 30-30. Additionally, 10 Browning-marked cartridges are present in a red plastic Federal branded ammunition carrier. The boxes are partial and do not contain the full original count of 20 rounds each. Box markings include Winchester Trade Mark Super Speed 30-30 Winchester S.P., Savage Hi-Power Cartridges with Top Notch Expansion Controlled Bullets, and Browning Center Fire Rifle Ammunition.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes exhibit moderate to heavy shelf wear, including scuffing, edge fraying, and some surface loss. The brass cartridge cases show varying degrees of age-related tarnish and surface oxidation, with some green verdigris present on rounds within the Winchester Silvertip box. The lead and jacketed projectiles show typical dulling and oxidation. The styrofoam and plastic carriers remain intact.
