Gun Collectors Dream Auction #83 May 2nd & 3rd TWO DAYS - NO RESERVES - 1200 LOTS!
Lot 1288:
Description
This lot features a trio of metal canisters containing GOEX FFg black rifle powder, totaling 3 LBS of propellant. These 16-ounce containers are 80th Anniversary commemorative editions, featuring lithographed labels marked with the dates 1912-1992. Each can is prominently marked FFg above the GOEX Black Rifle POWDER logo, with 80TH ANNIVERSARY displayed in a decorative banner. The reverse of the canisters provides extensive handling, storage, and disposal precautions, identifying the manufacturer as GOEX, Inc., Explosives Division, Belin Plant in Moosic, Pennsylvania. The labels specify the contents as the authentic propellant suitable for muskets, pistols, and shotguns. Each canister retains its original black screw-on cap. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The metal canisters exhibit minor exterior wear consistent with age and storage, including light surface scratches and scattered oxidation along the top and bottom metal rims. The lithographed labels remain largely intact and legible, though some minor scuffing and shelf wear are present. The screw-on caps are present and appear to function correctly. The canisters have not been weighed on a scale to confirm the exact remaining contents, though they are sold as a lot of 3 LBS based on the original packaging specifications.
