Description
This lot comprises a total of 61 rounds of mixed centerfire rifle and handgun ammunition. The collection includes .243 Winchester cartridges featuring brass cases and pointed soft-point bullets, alongside a quantity of .38 S&W handgun cartridges with nickel-plated cases and lead round-nose bullets. Additionally, the lot contains a group of vintage rimmed handgun cartridges of an unidentified caliber, characterized by heavily patinated dark cases and lead bullets. Key markings observed on the headstamps include WINCHESTER .243 WIN and R-P 38 S&W, identifying the manufacturers as Winchester and Remington-Peters respectively. The ammunition is loose and housed in plastic bags, with no original factory packaging present.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in mixed condition ranging from fair to poor. The .243 Winchester and nickel-plated .38 S&W rounds exhibit minor surface spotting and light tarnish to the cases. The vintage cartridges show significant environmental wear, including heavy dark patina on the brass and substantial white oxidation, or lead bloom, on the lead projectiles. All rounds appear to be live; however, they have not been tested for functionality and are sold as-is.
