Description
This cased set of Lyman All-American Deluxe reloading dies is configured for the processing of .38 Special and .357 Magnum pistol cartridges. The assembly includes three distinct steel dies featuring knurled adjustment rings and varied metallic finishes. Verbatim markings on the die bodies include 38-357 and XP DIE. The components are contained within an original black textured presentation box featuring a blue velvet-flocked fitted interior. The exterior lid is stamped with gold-tone text reading Lyman All-American RELOADING DIES and THE LYMAN GUN SIGHT CORPORATION MIDDLEFIELD, CONN. U.S.A. A side label further specifies the set as a 3-DIE PISTOL SET for 38 SP. 357 MAG. with the model designation DELUXE, the number 429, and a vintage price point of $21.00. Included with the lot is an original instruction manual titled ALL AMERICAN 3-DIE PISTOL SET and a single steel adjustment tool.
Condition report:
The three reloading dies show light external wear and minor handling marks but remain in good functional condition with clean interiors. The box exhibits light scuffing to the textured exterior and minor compression to the internal flocking. The instruction pamphlet shows age-related toning and minor creasing. The included metal adjustment tool is heavily weathered with significant surface rust across its entire length.
