Description
This is a single-shot lever-action rifle manufactured by the Hopkins & Allen Arms Co. of Norwich, Connecticut, chambered in .22 caliber. The firearm utilizes a falling block action operated by a large loop lever and features a saddle ring mounted to the left side of the receiver. The round barrel is fitted with a fixed blade front sight and a dovetail-mounted adjustable rear notch sight. The furniture consists of a walnut stock and forend, with the buttstock finished with a checkered black hard rubber buttplate. Key markings include the manufacturer name and location on the barrel, transcribed as THE HOPKINS & ALLEN ARMS CO. NORWICH. CONN. U.S.A., along with the model designation No. 822. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The barrel retains a dark blued finish with minor surface wear and light handling marks. The receiver shows significant surface patina and mottling with areas of light pitting and oxidation throughout. The walnut stock and forend exhibit various nicks, scratches, and thinning of the finish consistent with age and use. The bore was not inspected. The checkered buttplate shows minor wear but remains intact.
