Description
This Winchester Model 1300 Defender is a pump-action shotgun chambered for 12-gauge 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells, configured for high-capacity utility and home defense. The firearm is equipped with an 18-inch barrel made of Winchester Proof Steel and features a full-length magazine tube. The receiver and barrel are finished in a uniform black coating. The furniture includes a ribbed wood pump forend and a smooth wood buttstock, which is capped with a black rubber recoil pad. Aiming is facilitated by a single brass bead front sight mounted at the muzzle. Key markings include the model designation on the left side of the barrel, which is stamped verbatim as WINCHESTER ® MODEL 1300 DEFENDER 12 GA. 2 3/4″ & 3″ and MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL. The serial number L2884142 is clearly visible on the left side of the receiver, and a WP proof mark is present on the top of the barrel near the receiver junction. The recoil pad is embossed with the Winchester name and indicates it was MADE IN U.S.A. by U.S. Repeating Arms Company, Inc. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in very good overall condition. The black finish on the receiver and barrel is well-preserved, showing only minor handling marks and light surface scratches consistent with careful use. The wood stocks are in excellent shape with a few faint dings but no cracks or structural issues. The bore is bright and clean. The pump action appears to function correctly and cycles smoothly, and the trigger and safety mechanisms are operational, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition.
