Description
This Harrington & Richardson Safety Hammer Double Action revolver is chambered in .32 S&W and is configured with a five-shot cylinder and an octagonal barrel. The design features a shrouded hammer, often referred to as a safety hammer, which was intended to provide a snag-free profile for pocket carry. The firearm is finished in nickel and is fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips decorated with floral and scroll motifs. Sighting is achieved through a fixed front blade and a rear notch integrated into the top strap. Verbatim markings on the left side of the barrel include H. & R. ARMS COMPANY / WORCESTER, MASS. U.S.A. and .32 S. & W. CTGE. The top strap is stamped SAFETY HAMMER over DOUBLE ACTION. The serial number 22638 is clearly stamped on the butt of the grip frame. We have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in poor to fair condition. The nickel finish shows extensive wear with significant pitting and surface oxidation present on the frame, cylinder, and barrel. The bore is uninspected but likely reflects the pitted state of the exterior metal surfaces. The double action appears to function, though the mechanical integrity has not been verified through live fire. The hard rubber grips remain intact and show well-defined checkering and patterns with only minor smoothing and handling wear consistent with age.
