Description
This semi-automatic target pistol was manufactured in France by Manufacture d’Armes des Pyrénées Françaises (MAPF) and marketed under the Wards Western Field brand. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the firearm features a 6 inch barrel and a blued steel finish. The pistol is fitted with brown marbled-effect polymer target grips that include a left-side thumb rest and checkering. Sighting is handled by an adjustable rear sight and a fixed blade front sight. Key markings include the manufacturer’s name on the left side of the slide transcribed as MANUFACTURE D’ARMES DES PYRENEES FSES – HENDAYE – and the retailer’s branding on the right side of the slide as WARDS Western Field MODEL 5 over Cal. 22 Long Rifle. The top of the barrel is marked MADE IN FRANCE and the serial number 543446 is stamped on the right side of the frame above the trigger. The pistol utilizes a heel-mounted magazine release and is accompanied by one detachable box magazine and a patterned fabric soft case from Ace Case Mfg. LLC. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued steel finish is in good condition, exhibiting light surface wear and minor scratches, most notably at the muzzle and along the sharp edges of the slide. The marbled polymer grips remain well-preserved with crisp checkering and no significant chips or cracks. The action appears to function correctly when cycled by hand, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected. The included magazine and soft case show minimal signs of use.
