Gun Collectors Dream Auction #83 May 2nd & 3rd TWO DAYS - NO RESERVES - 1200 LOTS!
Lot 1508:
Description
This lot consists of three precision firearm sighting accessories and one original box. The first item is a Williams FP receiver sight featuring internal micrometer windage and elevation adjustments. Key markings on the Williams sight include scales labeled MIN and YDS with numerical increments of 0, 1, and 2 on the adjustment dials. This sight is currently missing its screw-in aperture disc and is accompanied by its original yellow and brown cardboard box marked WILLIAMS FP RECEIVER SIGHT with a white sticker bearing the number 13052. The second item is a long-base tang-mounted aperture sight, identified as a B.S.A. No. 8 model, which incorporates a large multi-aperture rotating disc and knurled adjustment knobs with numeric scales. The final item is a black-finished spring steel clamp accessory featuring two brass bushings, typically utilized as a barrel band for target applications. These components are designed for precision rifles to enhance sighting radius and adjustment accuracy.
Condition report:
All items are in used condition. The Williams receiver sight shows light wear to the matte finish on high points and some debris in the adjustment threads. The B.S.A. No. 8 sight exhibits a thinning finish and some light surface patina on the long base and adjustment screws. The spring clamp shows minor surface oxidation on the interior and some finish loss on the exterior. The original Williams box displays significant shelf wear, edge fraying, and scuffing. The mechanical adjustments on both sights appear to function smoothly, though they have not been tested on a firearm for tracking or repeatability.
