Description
This Winchester Model 70 is a bolt-action sporting rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, featuring a blued finish and a checkered wood stock with a Monte Carlo comb. The rifle is equipped with a Leupold 3×9 variable power scope, serial number 579095, featuring a duplex reticle and mounted on Buehler Orinda, CA rings and bases. Technical specifications include a ramped front sight, though the rear iron sight has been removed from its barrel dovetail. Key markings include the manufacturer and model designation on the barrel, which reads MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA, WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL, and MODEL-70 – 30-06 SPFLD. The receiver is marked with the serial number 513495 alongside WINCHESTER -TRADE MARK- and PW proof marks. The stock features a checkered grip and forend with a metal buttplate. Included with the lot is a set of leather scope lens covers with a connecting strap. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal components exhibit a blued finish with moderate wear, showing thinning and light speckling, particularly on the receiver and bolt handle. The checkered wood stock remains in good condition with minor surface marks from use, including a visible small gouge on the right side of the forend. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The optics are clear with a functional duplex reticle. The rear iron sight is missing from the barrel dovetail.
